NRA Has Anti-gunner On Board
It just came to my attention that a member of the NRA board is anti-gun when it comes to civilian ownership of so-called "assault" rifles and any gun that can hold more than 5 rounds of ammunition. For those of who are NRA members, we need to contact them and let them know how we feel. The board member in question is Joaquin Jackson, former Marine and Texas Ranger. Here is his quote, "personally, I think assault weapons have basically need to be in the hands of the military, and need to be in the hands of the police. As far as assault weapons to a civilian, it's alright if you get the mag capacity down to 5 rounds".
This does not sound like someone we should have fighting for our rights.

Send an email to NRA secretary Edward Land to voice your opinion.

Write Your Congressmen
While many times I feel that we have absolutely no power when it comes to politics and legislation, I was recently reassured with the defeat of the amnesty bill in congress. We need to voice our opinions once again on two pieces of legislation. One is HR 1022, the giant gun ban introduced by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D) of New York which from the way I read is more restrictive than Clinton's ban. Apparently, Rep. McCarthy introduces this bill every year, but it seems it is garnering a little more support this year in the wake of the tragedy at Virginia Tech and she is using this tragedy to garner more support. From what I also read, Rep. McCarthy's main agenda in Congress is to pass more anti-gun legislation because her husband was murdered by someone with a gun. She is also the same woman in the video below who doesn't know the contents of her legislation.
HR Bill 1022
The other legislation is a bill introduced by Rep. Ron Paul of Texas. This bill is HR 1096 which basically would restore all rights of the Second Amendment.

If you don't know who your representative is, it is now time to find out and let them know how you feel about each of these bills.

Gun Facts

This has to be the greatest manual I have seen with gun facts. Every gun owner should carry a copy of this around to dispute all the anti-gunners out there who think they know everything about how more guns = more crime. This ebook came from http://www.gunfacts.info/Click this link
Archie Bunker Has It Right
Here is a clip showing Archie Bunker's position on gun control. I don't think I could have said it better myself. This is about the last time that Hollywood took a realistic stance on gun control.

Proposer of Gun Ban Doesn't Know Content of Her Own Bill
Here is a clip of NY Rep. Carolyn McCarthy on MSNBC. In it she is asked what a barrel shroud is, something that she proposes to outlaw in her bill HR 1022. She sidesteps the question a few times, but then we really see that she doesn't know what the hell she is talking about and doesn't know what is in her bill. Please, if you are going to try to ban something, at least know what it is first.
Dog The Anti-Gunner
It seems that famed TV bounty hunter Dog, has a rather large hatred of guns and gun owners. Maybe that's because he can't own one! In a recent interview he did with The Denver Post, he made the following comment,
"It may be the Wild West, but you need to tighten up your gun laws," says Dog. "I never met one straight person who was packing. It's not the good guys with the guns. If I ever get back there, I'll change (those laws)."
Wow, what insight. I think what this comment plainly states is the obvious and that is that of all the people he used to hang around, they were all criminals and low life's. Let's just hope he stays on the far, far left coast in Hawaii. I do not live in Colorado, but they are close and we don't need anymore gun grabbers trying to take away our firearms. It is really sad when someone in the public arena like this makes irresponsible comments. Many people will take what he says to heart and try to follow him to be like the "Dog."

Ground-breaking Post
Hello everyone. I want to thank you for visiting my blog. The purpose of this blog is to preserve our Second Amendment rights granted to us in Bill of Rights. In case you don't know, it is the right to keep and bear arms. The actual wording is as follows:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Many people argue that this only pertains to militias, such as the National Guard. However, this is not so. This applies to all U.S. citizens who are legally able to possess firearms. While intended to stress the need for a militia, membership in a membership is not a requirement for exercising the right to keep and bear arms.
There are countless groups and people in our country trying to strip us of these rights, namely the Brady Campaign and many of the Democrat lawmakers. Their main purpose is to inflict more anti-gun legislation on the citizens of this country.
As I delve further into my posts, I will continue to track updates of who is doing what and what it means to the Second Amendment.
